MP3 updates
Updated: The "One For Sorrow, Two For Joy" single that was recently pulled from the iTunes store is
back in both the UK & French stores.
Original Post:
For those who purchase their music as mp3s, the single "One For Sorrow, Two For Joy" (which includes the exclusive track, "Peace Be With You") is available in the UK and French iTunes stores, but is NOT available in the US market. The OFSTFJ single (CD & vinyl) is out of print as it would appear that Agenda Music is no longer in business.
We Walked In Song, the French version (which includes the bonus tracks "Sketch", "Do You See My Brothers Coming" and "Song From Holland"), is available in mp3 format in both the UK and French iTunes stores and in the UK Amazon.com store. Sadly, it is not available in the US.

Eddie Vedder Covers Hard Sun

Back in 1989 Karen, along with Joni Mitchell, contributed vocals to the song "Hard Sun" on
Big Harvest, the debut (and only) album by
Indio. Eddie Vedder covers the song for
Into The Wild, the soundtrack to Sean Penn's new movie. Corin Tucker (Sleater-Kinney) sings background vocals this time around. Go to
The Playlist to download the new version.

Update on Japanese version of We Walked In Song
I received the Japanese version of
We Walked In Song yesterday. Although some stores list the album as an 11-track CD, some list it with 12-tracks. Both are correct. Although the artwork suggests there are only 11 tracks, there is a hidden 12th track: "Shooting Star (sketch)".

More on the new album
First off, the vinyl version of
We Walked In Song will have a bonus track.
Also, I found this little bit of information over at
Midheaven.com:
"...Their new album, We Walked in Song is one of their strongest works, though there was great tragedy in the beginning stages of creating the album. "Sometime after the passing of her father, Karen Peris began to write some of the most heartfelt material I have heard from the band. I believe she turned to songwriting as a way of coping with this great loss and celebrating those she loves in her life," says Badman's Dylan Magierek.
With eleven new, memorable and genuinely moving songs, We Walked in Song is the kind of intimate recording where each note seems essential. From the socially conscious opening track, "Brotherhood of Man" to the longful closing lines of "My Sisters Return from Ireland," Peris's hauntingly beautiful voice communicates with immediacy. Her visual, engaging lyrics have a rare, emotional depth and a firm sense of place. Don Peris's ringing, tremulous electric guitar and Paul Simon-inspired acoustic guitar weave their own touching melodies around Karen's voice. The tracks are further lit by gentle lines of melodic piano, upright bass and baritone acoustic guitar."

Befriended Bonus Tracks
I learned last week that there's a distinction between the Taiwan version (released by Avant Garden) of
Befriended and the Japanese version (released by P-Vine). The Taiwan version comes with "500 Miles" and the Japanese version comes with "The Way You Know" with the Taiwan version being a bit more difficult to find.

Cassettes may be obsolete...
The Innocence Mission's debut self-titled A&M album was released in Taiwan. Here's a picture as proof.

There's bound to be a Taiwan CD and perhaps even a 12" of the debut record. If you have proof of this, be sure to let us know. According to the seller on E-bay, this isn't a Japanese release, although it was released through A&M/Polygram.

Don Peris concert wrap-up
Last evening, Don performed a reworked version of the untitled instrumental from the unreleased
Glow demos. The song, now titled "Recital", appears on Don's new album,
Go When The Morning Shineth.

Also, they ended the show with "Birds" by Neil Young. Some of you may remember, Karen singing this in 1991.
Don also mentioned the new Innocence Mission album could possibly be out in February and the unreleased
Glow demos may see the light of day...one day, but definitely not before the new CD is released.

More compilations added & a general update
Today I updated the
songlist (which is archived here at the site) to include a cover of "Joan" by singer/songwriter Johnny Goudie. If anyone has a copy of this please let me know. I also believe the
articles I uploaded maybe a year ago vanished from the site. Those old news articles have been re-added.
Also added today were images of the elusive Japanese release of
Glow and an image of the Brazillian release for
Now The Day Is Over.

And finally, I added the following compilations to the 1990's and 2000's sections:
Hello, Franceska,
fRoots No.14,
Jane: The Ultimate Fall CD #5,
Happiness Tenderness: The Music from Beautiful Angels,
So I Got Me One of Them Wiener Dogs, and
B.L.A.S.T. Modern Rock Program #10.
