I happened to see this news from Trespassers William's website:

New Recording

The band is also recording a track for an upcoming Innocence Mission tribute/charity record. The recording features Matt and Anna-Lynne, as well as Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter drummer Eric Eagle.

This is some interesting news. I was contemplating putting a tribute album together for the tIM however one thing led to another and I never got it off the ground. I'll have to do some digging to see if I can find out more about this.

Anyone care to do any speculating about who could contribute to the tribute record?  I don't guess it would be the least bit surprising to see Sufjan cover a track.  Same goes for Denison Witmer.  It'd be neat to hear Over The Rhine's take on something.  If I were to make a wish list, without any regard for plausibility, I'd probably include the likes of Rosie Thomas, Basia Bulat, Isobel Campbell, Camera Obscura, Joanna Newsom, Club 8, Goldfrapp, Jolie Holland, Laura Barrett, Polly Paulusma, Sun Kil Moon, and maybe even someone like Gillian Welch.

Not that I dislike Sufjan, but I hope he doesn't. Too many of his fans are Lakes of Canadienites. Everytime I go to YouTube, there's always some Sufjan fan covering that song. Sometimes I wish Karen never wrote LOC. it's becoming more of a Sufjan song than hers. It's just a bit annoying to me for some reason.

I'd love to hear OTR or Leigh Nash do an IM song and Denison Witmer would be nice addition as well.

I'm not sure at this point though who is putting the project together. I suppose I need to send an email to the Polaris Project and see if anyone knows.

Really varied, interesting list! I would love Neko Case to contribute something because, well, I love her and adore the vulnerable side to her voice.

Trespassers William added a cover of Tomorrow on the Runway to their MySpace page, which I assume is their contribution to this project.
